Major Match Made Official For Friday's WWE SmackDown
WWE just confirmed it...
WWE has finally confirmed that Sheamus and Jeff Hardy's 'Bar Fight' will take place this Friday on SmackDown.
The gimmick match was originally scheduled for 'The Horror Show At Extreme Rules' last Sunday, but WWE appeared to change their mind on that before shooting last week's SmackDown. There, Sheamus attacked Jeff backstage during a promo segment and said, "See you next week on SmackDown".
As expected after that, the 'Bar Fight' was removed from the pay-per-view line up.
It's set to take place this week instead, and will presumably be the main hook for this week's show. WWE are making a habit of using big, pay-per-view quality matches on TV as a bid to bolster ratings. This is just the latest example of that, and follows hot on the heels of the 'Unsanctioned' bout between Big Show and Randy Orton over on Raw.
It seems likely this brawl between Sheamus and Hardy will take place in the "home bar" the Irishman has been shooting vignettes from in recent weeks. Don't be surprised if Jeff gets doused in Guinness, or smashed through some other stereotypical Irish paraphernalia.
