Major Update On Jay White Potentially Signing With WWE

Is the Switchblade expected to sign with WWE?

With Jay White likely the hottest free agent in pro wrestling right now, many fans had hoped that the arrival of Switchblade would be one of the traditional surprises fans have come to expect from WWE's Raw after WrestleMania. While that obviously didn't come to pass, there's now an update on whether White will indeed end up in WWE.

As per PWInsider Elite, there was reportedly "absolutely no discussion" of Jay White joining WWE during the weekend of WrestleMania 39. From speaking to several WWE officials and talents, the outlet notes that it appears that the former Bullet Club leader is not WWE-bound.

Previously, it has been regularly reported how big a fan of White's WWE is, with both WWE and AEW said to have significant interest in signing the New Zealander once he formally departed New Japan Pro-Wrestling earlier this year. It's unclear whether WWE has decided against moving for the NJPW Triple Crown Champion, or whether White himself has simply decided that WWE is not for him.

Of course, the present-day WWE is now one that very much has Vince McMahon involved in a major way, with it reported earlier today how the disgraced Chairman was back calling the shots at last night's Raw. It's also worth noting, that was a Raw episode that has been universally lambasted and has even been labelled the worst Raw outing in company history. In addition to that, having a chaotic Raw with Vince in charge has caused a "huge negative shift" in backstage morale.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics. As a lifelong wrestling fan, horror obsessive, and comic book nerd, he's been covering those topics professionally as far back as 2010. In addition to his current WhatCulture role of Senior Content Producer, Andrew previously spent nearly a decade as Online Editor and Lead Writer for the world's longest-running genre publication, Starburst Magazine, and his work has also been featured on BBC, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, WhatToWatch, Sportkskeeda, and various other outlets, in addition to being a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic. Between his main dayjob, his role as the lead panel host of Wales Comic Con, and his gig as a pre-match host for Wrexham AFC games, Andrew has also carried out a hugely varied amount of interviews, from the likes of Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Adrienne Barbeau, Rob Zombie, Katharine Isabelle, Leigh Whannell, Bruce Campbell, and Tony Todd, to Kevin Smith, Ron Perlman, Elijah Wood, Giancarlo Esposito, Simon Pegg, Charlie Cox, the Russo Brothers, and Brian Blessed, to Kevin Conroy, Paul Dini, Tara Strong, Will Friedle, Burt Ward, Andrea Romano, Frank Miller, and Rob Liefeld, to Bret Hart, Sting, Mick Foley, Ricky Starks, Jamie Hayer, Britt Baker, Eric Bischoff, and William Regal, to Mickey Thomas, Joey Jones, Phil Parkinson, Brian Flynn, Denis Smith, Gary Bennett, Karl Connolly, and Bryan Robson - and that's just the tip of an ever-expanding iceberg.
