Major Update On WWE's Booking Of Cody Rhodes

How far in advance of the Raw after Mania did the Beast know he was turning on Cody?

Despite Vince McMahon being back in the chair at the Raw after WrestleMania on Monday and his trademark late changes to the card taking place, one angle seemingly was set long before Mania 39 took place.

Fightful Select reports that Brock Lesnar turning heel on Cody Rhodes was set into motion well before Mania, and that Brock even was informed of this creative plan ahead of time. If you've been living under a rock, Rhodes challenged Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa to a tag match and Lesnar answered the call to tag with him, only to turn on him before the main event and batter him all over ringside.

Sources told Fightful that Lesnar was aware of his creative plans for post-Mania nearly a month before the PLE, and that several of his interactions with Omos hinted at the heel turn. Not getting back into the ring with the Nigerian Giant, backing out of the ring and avoiding confrontations were some of the hints.

It's interesting to note that the creative plans called for Brock to buddy up to Cody and then lay him out. But what isn't clear yet is whether this would have started a feud over the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, with Lesnar being new champ Rhodes' first challenger after WrestleMania 39.
