Major WWE Star Returns On Last Night's SmackDown
Someone big is back in the WWE spotlight, and heading for a tag-team role.
Ronda Rousey returned to WWE screens on last night's episode of SmackDown.
The 'Baddest' appeared for the first time since losing her SmackDown Women's Title to Charlotte Flair in just 41 seconds on the 30 December 2022 edition. Did Ronda look for revenge on Flair? No - Charlotte has already been programmed with Rhea Ripley heading into WrestleMania 39, so Rousey had to find something else to do.
Ronda came out during a heated exchange between Natalya and Shayna Baszler. WWE teased that Rousey and Baszler would fight, but then they attacked Nattie before Shotzi ran out for the attempted save.
The company has already announced Ronda and Shayna vs. Natalya and Shotzi for next week's show, and it looks like the former duo will be in the running for a Women's Tag-Team Title run heading into 'Mania. There are certainly worse spots for both to be in, and it's a positive that WWE didn't suddenly give up on the 'Two Woman Power Trip' angle Rousey and Baszler had been working late-last year.
Don't be surprised if next week's bout is a total squash.
