Charlotte Flair is set to take time off from WWE following WrestleMania 39, reports PWInsider.

Flair had informed the promotion of her intentions over WrestleMania weekend. This year's 'Show of Shows' took place in Los Angeles, California's SoFi Stadium on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 April.

There is currently no word on how long, exactly, Charlotte will be out of WWE commission. Speculation points towards her hiatus being linked to her desire to compete in a bodybuilding contest this summer, which she has shown an interest in during recent media appearances, though this is unconfirmed.

Charlotte dropped the SmackDown Women's Championship to Rhea Ripley in an acclaimed, hard-hitting match on WrestleMania 39's first night. The 14-time champion had reigned since December 2022, when she mounted a surprise return to SmackDown, dethroning Rondy Rousey after the former UFC star had just successfully defended against Raquel Rodriguez.

Before returning in December, Charlotte had been out of action since May, initially taking time off to marry her now-husband Andrade el Idolo. It was later revealed that her time away from WWE had been extended by essential dental surgeries, scuppering a potential comeback around SummerSlam season.
