Major WWE SummerSlam 2020 Match Revealed?
WrestleMania 36 just came too soon...
It's already been reported that Bayley vs. Sasha Banks was WWE's original SmackDown Women's Title plan for WrestleMania 36. According to Dave Meltzer, the company just didn't feel they had enough time to properly build towards the match, and so they've gone with a multi-woman format instead.
Now, Meltzer's Wrestling Observer is guessing that WWE will hold back on the friends-turned-enemies-turned-friends-turned-enemies story until SummerSlam later this year.
It remains to be seen if they have that kind of restraint. The SmackDown women's scene isn't exactly bursting with viable challengers for Bayley's belt, and that may force WWE's writers towards Sasha sooner rather than later.
The feud does deserve serious thought though.
WWE bungled their previous tension in 2018, but managed to temporarily rescue things by making Bayley and Banks the first Women's Tag-Team Champions. After that experiment, things looked bleak before both turned heel and were drafted to Friday nights.
Do you think that it'd be wise for WWE to hold off until SummerSlam on 23 August? Or, would you rather see Bayley and Sasha fill a gaping hole in SmackDown's female scene by waging war immediately after 'Mania 36?
