Maria Kanellis Becomes WWE's First Pregnant Champion
Health and safety is out of the window.
Maria Kanellis made history on last night's episode of Monday Night Raw when she became the company's first ever pregnant champion.
Shortly after husband Mike Kanellis had snatched the title from R-Truth, Maria demanded backstage that her put-upon spouse lie down for her, telling him, "get down on your back, like you usually do."
A nearby referee was kowed into counting for a wrestler who would otherwise surely not be cleared for competition, as Kanellis claimed the championship.
Immediately after picking up the title, she began bleating that she was WWE's first champion whilst carrying child, goading her colleagues that they wouldn't wrestle a pregnant woman.
It's a fair point. Maria - who is legitimately pregnant - is not medically cleared to wrestle by the company. In storyline, this'll probably be used as a reason to take the title from her - and perhaps reintroduce the briefly touched upon storyline of the unborn baby's father alluded to a few weeks back.
For the time being, congrats to Maria and her enwombed sprogling!
