Matt Hardy Comments On WWE Social Media Policy

Away from the drama surrounding WWE's decision to ban their own talents from 'engaging with outside third parties', AEW's Matt Hardy has revealed some more information about their current social media policy.

WWE recently uploaded a match between Rusev (now-Miro) and Roman Reigns from Clash of Champions 2016. After seeing a tweet advertising the video, Miro responded to the company by tweeting, 'Tag me @ToBeMiro'.

A fan then noticed this exchange and noted that 'They did the same thing to @MATTHARDYBRAND recently'. Spotting the response, the 'BROKEN' one decided to shed some light on the situation.

Hardy stated:

'WWE social media folks aren’t allowed to mention talent like @ToBeMiro, because they now only exist in the entire professional wrestling universe, as opposed to solely @WWE. It’s just their policy.'

The former WWE employee then added, 'I love how @AEWrestling acknowledges all of pro wrestling, competition or not..'

WWE have long been known for ignoring former employees or erasing talents from their history altogether once they leave their 'universe'. For example, in December of last year, Dean Ambrose's (Jon Moxley) name was edited out of a video honouring The Shield's debut.

AEW on the other hand don't seem to mind acknowledging other companies or their star's pasts, as they have openly allowed their performers to work in NJPW and allowed NWA talents to wrestle in the All Elite promotion in recent times.

Though it would be nice to see former talents at least tagged in posts highlighting their previous work, don't expect WWE to alter their odd policy any time soon.
