Matt Hardy has revealed exactly how much he was paid for the cherished ladder match alongside brother Jeff, Edge and Christian at No Mercy 1999.

The AEW man told listeners tuning into his new 'Extreme Life' podcast that all four guys were initially paid $5,000 for the stunt show bout. That didn't sit well with Matt, and he later pointed out to Jim Ross that fans were literally ordering the pay-per-view's replay just to see them fly around in tag action.

So, to appease everyone, JR decided to hand each wrestler an additional $5,000 bonus on top of their original payoff. That's something the quartet appreciated greatly, and it motivated them to work even harder.

Amazingly, as Christian once reminded Matt, Road Dogg had pulled them all aside and said he'd quit if they didn't make 30k apiece for the stunner. That didn't happen, but they did receive a bonus for their efforts.

Hardy went on to say that his 1999 downside guarantee was $75,000. He and Jeff tripled that number in '99, and would go on to make 13 times that figure in the year 2000.
