All signs point towards the 45-year-old heading to AEW imminently.

As if there was any doubt from the moment he announced he was leaving WWE, it looks like Matt Hardy will be on his way to AEW imminently.

This is according to Dave Meltzer on today's episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. He notes that The Young Bucks' appearance in yesterday's #FreeTheDELETE means Hardy joining AEW has been solidified, with another sign coming from today's news that has pulled out this weekend's The Big Event 18 convention in New York City.

Why is this relevant? Because an agreement between WWE and The Big Event's organisers stipulates that nobody affiliated with AEW can appear. That Matt has been replaced by Terry Funk suggests, at the very least, that the organisers see him as an AEW guy.

This is a follow-up to a recent episode of Being the Elite on which Matt Jackson received a phone call from somebody he hadn't spoken to in a while, with the inference that he was talking to Hardy.

Hardy has been heavily-linked with AEW for months now. On Observer Radio, Meltzer was speaking as if it was a done deal, so let's see what happens.
