Matt Hardy Wants To Buy TNA
Is he truly Broken, or speaking the truth?
Matt Hardy has expressed interest in buying TNA in multiple Tweets today. Now, while he's most likely doing this in character, perhaps there is a small possibility that he'd actually like to be the owner of the struggling company.
The only reason to take this seriously at all, is that he laid out an actual move he'd make as owner, which is to get rid of the "TNA" initials. That seems like an odd thing for an employee to state on Twitter just for the hell of it. This is also something that Billy Corgan has publicly mentioned wanting to do if he gains ownership as well.
We can only speculate on whether Matt would actually have enough money (or the interest) to pull this off. But no one seems to know exactly how much TNA is worth. If he re-branded the promotion, he could perhaps buy it without the tape library, which would likely make the overall cost much lower.
Matt (and his brother Jeff) do have some experience running wrestling events with their OMEGA promotion. It's drawn great crowds in the past for an indy federation. But Impact is shown worldwide, which makes this a much bigger deal.
However, considering that TNA is going to film an entire episode of Impact at Matt's compound in the near future, they may as well just give him the entire thing at this point.
