Mick Foley's Son Joins WWE Creative

Dewey Foley is set to start as a 'Creative Writer's Assistant' in the new year.

WWE has hired the son of Mick Foley as a Creative Writer€™s Assistant. Dewey Foley, 23, will star work with the company in January and tweeted his thoughts on the matter over the weekend, stating; 'while my last name is beneficial, my work ethic is unparalleled and my creativity is something that I've shown off all my life'. This is likely in response to critics who hit out at Dewey's appointment on social media, citing nepotism as a key factor. Mick himself took to Facebook to discuss his son's hiring, and responded to these claims in defiance, explaining: 'My son was not given this job because of his last name. He earned it. He earned it by working for hundreds of hours in solitude, with no compensation, to prove his writing skills and mind for the business. There are no piece-of-cake jobs in WWE.' On Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez took a closer look at what Dewey's role entails. The newcomer is expected have little initial creative power of his own, and will instead be tasked with working over pre-written scrips with the superstars.
