Mickie James Confirms In-Ring Return Following WWE Release
Here's when Mickie James plans on returning to the squared circle.
Mickie James will return to the ring at the NWA's 73rd-anniversary pay-per-view on Sunday 29 August.
Tuesday saw James outline her plans via an Instagram Live stream, during which she stated that she's currently looking for somebody to face, asking fans to let NWA owner Billy Corgan know who they want to see her booked against.
James' affiliation with the NWA was revealed earlier this month. Appearing on an episode of Powerrr, James announced she'd be acting as an executive producer for an upcoming all-women's pay-per-view, Empower, which takes place on Saturday 28 August. Mickie has since claimed she won't be wrestling on that show.
Let go from WWE alongside the likes of The IIconics and Samoa Joe on 15 April, James' name stayed in the headlines on account of the trash bag scandal that followed, as her personal belongings were returned to her, haphazardly, in a black refuse sack. Longstanding WWE executive Mark Carrano took the fall for this, with the promotion dismissing him for his reported involvement.
Almost five months have now passed since James last wrestled, with her last in-ring appearance coming in the WWE women's Royal Rumble on 31 January.
