Millie McKenzie Returns To WWE NXT UK, Challenges Kay Lee Ray
Millie McKenzie is back in WWE's UK brand, complete with a name change.
Millie McKenzie has returned to WWE's NXT UK brand as the next contender to Kay Lee Ray's Women's Championship.
Now named Emilia McKenzie, the former Defiant Wrestling Women's Champion interrupted KLR mid-promo, essentially staking her claim to the title. A brawl ensued, also incorporating Isla Dawn and Meiko Satomura, before Emilia and Meiko were left standing. A release German suplex from McKenzie to Dawn left viewers with a taste of what she's capable of.
Assistant general manager Sid Scala would then book a match for NXT UK Prelude on 8 April between the two teams; Kay Lee Ray and Isla Dawn vs. Emilia McKenzie and Meiko Satomura.
As Millie McKenzie, Emilia first wrestled for WWE during the inaugural tapings for NXT UK in July 2018. She lost a dark match to Killer Kelly, although she'd then go on to enter the NXT UK Women's Championship tournament, losing to Jinny in the opening round.
Having not wrestled since March 2020 as a result of the ongoing global health crisis, McKenzie returned to in-ring competition in a match aired 20 February. She's been part of the PROGRESS Wrestling roster since its return via the WWE Network and, subsequently, Peacock.
