Miro Breaks Silence On AEW Absence: "I'm Waiting..."

Where in the world is Miro? At home, waiting for AEW's call, apparently...

Miro has addressed his ongoing absence from AEW, claiming he is waiting for an opportunity from the Tony Khan-helmed promotion.

The former TNT Champion hasn't featured for AEW since teaming with Sting and Darby Allin to defeat the House Of Black at All Out 2022 (4 September). During a recent interview with MUSE TV Network, Miro stated that his sidelining isn't up to him, putting the ball firmly in AEW's court:-

"That's not up to me. I'm doing everything that I can and from then on, I'm just sitting and waiting for the opportunity."

Miro has worked only four AEW matches in 2022. He has had a complicated year, having sat the first few months out due to injury, then missing further time while filming for a television role. The 36-year-old's recent inactivity is tougher to explain, though.

Reporting on Miro's current absence has varied. Although Fightful has stated that creative hasn't come up with anything for the big man, who is healthy and ready to go, Dave Meltzer reported that Miro ended up turning down one particularly big storyline pitch.

Whatever the case, there remains no word on when Miro will be back in AEW.
