Missing AEW Star FINALLY Returns

One of AEW's finest wrestlers returns backstage after LONG absence.

Serena Deeb
AEW

Serena Deeb has been backstage in AEW for the first time in 2023.

Fightful Select reports that Deeb was at the company's Collision tapings on Saturday, 13 October, with talent indicating that this was the first time they'd seen Serena behind the scenes this year. The outlet noted, too, that the taping's location (Toledo, Ohio), wasn't "anywhere near where she should have just been visiting."

Deeb hasn't wrestled for AEW since an October 2022 episode of Dark. Last month, Fightful reported that Serena had been involved in a "serious disagreement" with company management stemming from Deeb being "very vocal about her use on AEW TV and especially the time that she was given." It was noted that the situation became a matter of disrespect, with Deeb purporting that AEW had cut her match times without informing her until she was in the ring. AEW sources denied this.

Additionally, Deeb has told people that she has been suffering from an undisclosed injury. Her absence sounds like a two-pronged affair.

There is currently no word on whether or not Deeb's backstage presence will lead to her returning to AEW television, though she is still contracted to the promotion.
