Alberto Del Rio was scheduled to be in Mexico for AAA's Heroes Immortales X Event on Sunday, but was a no-show. We later found out that it was because he was stabbed and hospitalized. MLW has revealed some more details on the incident.

Allegedly, a driver hit Del Rio's car and after both men left their vehicles, an argument ensued. Del Rio reportedly turned back to his car, so he could make his flight, and was then attacked from behind with a knife. Del Rio was able to sidestep part of the assault, but was still caught on the back of his head with the weapon.

Del Rio took the man down, but was continually slashed while on the ground. He did pull the knife away eventually, but the attacker got away and drove off. Some witnesses in the area did take note of the license plates, but no arrests have been made yet.

This was an incredibly scary situation, but thankfully Del Rio seems to be okay. Quite incredibly, he wanted to still make the AAA show that night, but was unable to since he was hospitalized. He will not miss any upcoming bookings, including WCPW's Refuse to Lose tomorrow...

There is also no heat on Del Rio for missing the AAA event, as they are now backing him publicly.

Hopefully the police can find the man who attacked him.
