More Details On Big Cass' WWE Release
Sources claim personal issues behind termination.
Big Cass was unceremoniously let go by WWE yesterday afternoon, with few hints from the company as to why. It has since emerged, according to sources speaking with Sports Illustrated, that the big man's dismissal was largely down to problems with his personal conduct.
Insiders speaking to SI report that Cass spent the majority of WWE's European tour in April drinking, from which numerous attitude problems were said to arise. The seven foot star's frequent public intoxication was noted as the primary reason he fell out of favour with the company.
Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet further reported that Cass' excessive drinking were not the only reason he found himself in the doghouse. In addition to drawing Vince McMahon's ire for going into business for himself during a SmackDown segment involving a little person, Cass is also said to have broken down a door on a talent bus after finding himself trapped due to a faulty lock. Whilst perhaps understandable, the overreaction is said to be one of a string of many such incidents which has tipped management over the edge.
Big Cass was defeated by Daniel Bryan in a competitive match at Sunday's Money in the Bank. The course of the contest certainly showed no suggestion that the giant was on the company's naughty step. He was released yesterday via an official statement on WWE's website, which omitted the usual 'future endeavours' send-off.
