Mr. Anderson Says TNA Made Him Stop Using His Catchphrase

TNA is taking a new direction.

TNA has been undergoing major changes of late in an effort to appeal to a new audience and television network. According to former TNA Champion Mr. Anderson, these changes have affected him personally. During an interview with Main Event Radio, Anderson said that TNA asked him to stop using his signature "asshole" catchphrase. According to Anderson, TNA is moving in a more family-friendly direction and the company feared potential audiences would be offended by the harsh language. Anderson himself said that he wasn't bothered by the move as he feels he can get over regardless. It's interesting that TNA requested the change in Anderson's dialogue considering the direction of their television product recently. The company has been running hardcore matches for several weeks, including the use of cheese graters. This news also comes out after TNA had their entire roster advocate a woman being slammed through a table during a story line. Anderson also spoke about the Spike TV and TNA deal, saying that he's sure that the two sides will come to an agreement. TNA's current deal with Spike TV expires at the end of September. TNA finished up their second three-night set of tapings in the Manhattan Center last week and wrote longtime authority figure Dixie Carter off of television on the show that aired the same night as the final taping.
