Mr. Fuji: Ranking His WWE Managerial Clients From Worst To Best

10. Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart

Another quick-fire managerial affair, Jim Neidhart came together with Mr. Fuji in early 1985. Neidhart had abandoned a planned football career to train in Stu Hart’s legendary dungeon, and worked for Hart’s Stampede Wrestling from 1978 to 1983. He married Stu’s daughter, Eli, to become Bret and Owen Hart’s brother-in-law, and joined WWE with Bret following Stampede’s sale to Vince McMahon.

Though the duo would find success as allies later in their career, Neidhart and Hart initially debuted as singles wrestlers. The Anvil made his first WWE singles appearance in January 1985 when he defeated Tony Garea with Fuji by his side, before wrestling Hart, a babyface at the time, to a couple of draws a week later, then eventually besting Hart with Fuji’s assistance in February.

Mr. Fuji ended their relationship shortly after, however. As he tended to do throughout his career, Fuji saw there was money to be made in selling Neidhart’s managerial contract, and when Jimmy Hart flashed the cash, Mr. Fuji was happy to send The Anvil on his way. Thus began The Hart Foundation: a stable that might not have existed without this act.
