IMPACT Wrestling has landed one of the hottest free agents in the game.

Having been a free agent since departing the National Wrestling Alliance at the turn of the year, Nick Aldis is now back in IMPACT Wrestling.

Aldis made his return to the Anthem outfit at last night's Rebellion PPV, coming out as a surprise guest commentator for the Steve Maclin vs. Kushida match for the vacant IMPACT World Championship.

Not just did the National Treasure join the commentary team for that bout, but he immediately stated how, "The conversations have ended, the deal is done, Nick Aldis is back in IMPACT Wrestling" as the Englishman made it clear that his focus was on the IMPACT World Title.

In terms of that World Title, it was Steve Maclin who emerged victorious to win the belt that Josh Alexander was forced to vacate last month due to injury.

Calling IMPACT President Scott D'Amore to the ring to hand him the World Championship, Maclin ended up attacking D'Amore with that title. Having seen enough, Aldis left the commentary table and squared off with Maclin, before the new IMPACT World Champion backed down and left the ring.

Of course, Nick Aldis has a storied history with IMPACT Wrestling, first joining the then-TNA back in 2008. That run would last through until 2015, and notably would see the Brit - then under the Magnus name - win the TNA World Championship. There would be a brief return to the promotion in 2017 and some appearances last year, but now the 36-year-old is seemingly back as a permanent fixture in IMPACT.

Elsewhere, the Norfolk native was a pivotal part in making Billy Corgan's NWA must-watch for a spell, with Aldis the jewel in the crown as the organisation experienced a fresh surge in popularity a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, the pandemic took plentiful momentum away from the NWA, and subsequent creative decisions from Corgan saw he and Aldis butt heads - leading to the two-time NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion departing the NWA at the start of this year.
