Multiple Wrestling Companies Interested In Las Vegas Sphere
Could Las Vegas' Sphere soon play host to a wrestling event?
Having opened last September, the Las Vegas Sphere has quickly become one of the hottest venues on the planet, with its unique setup, sound system, video capabilities, and general aura marking the Sphere out as something a little different.
Fightful Select now reports that "multiple" wrestling promotions have inquired about running an event at the Sphere, with that a possibility for 2025 and beyond. As of this writing, the identities of these promotions aren't known, but given the sheer status of the Sphere, it's pretty easy to speculate which companies have the name value and audience to warrant a show at the venue.
While the Sphere has so far hosted the likes of The Eagles and a 40-date U2 residency - which, for this writer, is enough to send an eerie shiver down the spine - it's worth noting that the venue will soon be hosting UFC 306, with that event taking place on 14 September. Of course, the UFC is nowadays the sister company of WWE as both companies are housed under the TKO banner.
On the WWE front, the market leader already has one major show set for Las Vegas in 2025, with WrestleMania 41 taking place at Allegiant Stadium next April. For AEW, there have been rumblings that next year's Double or Nothing may take place from a Vegas venue that's not the MGM Grand... or that Tony Khan's promotion may seek to move Double or Nothing away from Las Vegas due to 'Mania happening there just one month prior.
