Road Dogg's exit isn't the last change to hit WWE's revamped creative team before WrestleMania 42.

Bryan Alvarez stated on Wrestling Observer Live that more changes could be coming to the creative landscape on Raw and SmackDown following news that Brian 'Road Dogg' James has stepped down from his position as co-lead writer on the blue brand and left WWE.

Of course, the company are around a month away from producing the biggest weekender of 2026: WrestleMania 42 takes place in Las Vegas on 18-19 April, so Dogg quitting isn't ideal. It remains to be seen who'll step up to join John Switaka on the SmackDown front, but Raw is heading for a shake up too.

Alexandra Williams has enjoyed a string of steady promotions in the organisation since joining WWE in October 2020. She started out as a writer and producer on the flagship, then became senior writer and producer in February 2024. Now, Williams has been elevated to Vice President generally and head writer on Raw.

Alvarez teased during Observer Live "that it’s possible there is more to come" behind the scenes. He also pointed to several annoying injuries that have impacted key storylines/feuds heading into 'Mania 42, and seemed to defend WWE's creative team when discussing Bron Breakker's hernia layoff.

That disrupted huge plans to have Breakker tangle with CM Punk and possibly become World Heavyweight Champion. The interesting thing here is that Roman Reigns vs. Punk is on tap for Vegas - would Triple H have gone with Bron vs. Punk over that? It's unlikely, but Alvarez still has a point.

Injuries to others like Seth Rollins and Bronson Reed have wreaked havoc on The Vision's story arc on Raw.

Stay tuned for more news on WWE's creative shake once it breaks.
