Naomi Announced For WWE Women's Royal Rumble
The historic match gets its first official participant.
Stephanie McMahon announced WWE's first ever women's Royal Rumble on this week's Monday Night Raw, and last night's SmackDown saw former Naomi unveiled as the first official participant.
This came through an in-ring segment with Charlotte Flair, who was talking about potentially wrestling the Rumble winner at WrestleMania 34, but was interrupted by the former SD Women's Champion. Naomi confirmed her participation, then gave Charlotte a friendly warning for New Orleans on April 8th.
Their back-and-forth was interrupted by The Riott Squad, two of whom wrestled Naomi and Charlotte immediately after the segment.
No other SmackDown Superstars entered themselves into the Rumble last night. As things stand, Naomi is the only name on the official list. McMahon was joined by the entire Raw women's roster as she made her Raw announcement, but while it's thought that everyone bar Women's Champion Alexa Bliss will feature in the historic bout, no red brand names have been confirmed yet.
The match is set in stone for the January 28th pay-per-view, but we still don't know how many wrestlers will feature. Here's hoping WWE find room not only for existing Raw and SmackDown stars, but the big-time surprises the Rumble is known for.
