Sammy Guevara, AEW, and Impact Wrestling: Who has heat, who doesn't, and what's really going on...

It was reported over the weekend that Sammy Guevara had stoked the ire of AEW officials after turning down an Impact Wrestling storyline he had previously agreed to, leading to the Anthem-helmed promotion cancelling angles that were supposed to be filmed at last week's television tapings.

Dave Meltzer spoke on the matter during the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. He provided plenty of additional context to what happened, with his most important comments relating to the heat, or lack thereof.

Per Meltzer, nobody in AEW has heat with Guevara as a result of what happened and no damage has been done to All Elite's working relationship with Impact. He claimed that this part of the story was blown out of proportion. On the flip side, there "sure is" heat from Impact towards Sammy.

One Impact source told Meltzer that the story Guevara said "no" to was something "he should have turned down."

As covered earlier, Impact newcomer Black Taurus was used in some of the spots originally intended for Guevara, who presumably won't be participating in any crossover angles going forward. The original plan was for Sammy to feature in Impact segments based on him leaving The Inner Circle last week.
