New Tag Team Champions Crowned On Last Night's WWE Raw
Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode's reign is over.
The Viking Raiders are your new WWE Raw Tag Team Champions, having defeated Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler on last night's show.
Erik and Ivar earned this opportunity by defeating Roode and Ziggler in a non-title match last week. The rematch was markedly more entertaining, with the four wrestlers working hard to win over a crowd that started cold, but were totally into the bout by the end, with the Viking Raiders' hard-hitting, impactful offence scoring big pops en route to an overdue title victory.
Ziggler and Roode's reign ended at 29 days. Their run began with a victory over the dysfunctional Seth Rollins/Braun Strowman tandem at Clash of Champions 2019 and saw just one successful defence, as they defeated Heavy Machinery on the 30 September episode of Raw. Perhaps those rumours that Paul Heyman wanted to push Roode were wide of the mark.
For the Viking Raiders, this is the biggest moment in a main roster run that hasn't always brought much variety, but has always been dominant. Erik and Ivar's graduation from serial jobber killers to unstoppable force took a while longer than many would have liked. Regardless, they're at the top now - let's hope they keep flying.
