With WWE clearly setting up a multi-team match for the Women's Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 42, there's now the unfortunate news that Nikki Bella suffered an injury on this past Friday's SmackDown.

There, Nikki and Brie Bella scored a win over Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, complete with a smidge of interference from Nia Jax and Lash Legend, and with a post-match appearance from Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, seemingly setting the stage for all four teams battling for Jax and Legend's Women's Tag Team Titles at this year's Showcase of the Immortals.

Per Bryan Alvarez of f4wonline, Nikki Bella suffered a leg injury during this match as she brawled off-screen with Nia Jax. Nikki could then be seen limping as she was thrown to the outside by Jax, Brie rolled up Alexa for the win, and Nikki was checked on at ringside by a member of WWE's medical team.

There are no further details right now on the specifics of this leg injury or the severity of it, but hopefully it's nothing too serious for Nikki, particularly at a time when the Bella Twins have finally reunited and made it clear that they want the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships. And in terms of WrestleMania 42, that two-day PLE is now only three weeks away.

WWE already has several injuries that have derailed 'Mania 42 plans, with Bron Breakker and Rey Mysterio both facing a race against the clock to be cleared in time to face Seth Rollins and Gunther, respectively, at the Granddaddy of Them All.
