NJPW G1 Climax 2018, THE FINAL WEEK: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

6. Juice Robinson Vs. Tomohiro Ishii (August 8)

Kenny Omega Kota Ibushi
NJPW

Rating: ****1/4

The purity of Juice Robinson was put to the test against the 'Stone Pitbull' as he grew more desperate to continue his latter-stages winning streak against the man that had just scored the victory of the tournament up to that point.

Tomohiro Ishii's win over Kenny Omega transcended the G1 Climax exactly as it should have. It will serve as the backdrop for Ishii's eventual IWGP Heavyweight Championship shot, and fuelled him here as an unbeatable force against the secondary titleholder too. Simplistic and deadly, his vertical drop brainbuster has been preserved as utterly devastating. Robinson was a beaten man from the moment he was held aloft.
