NJPW G1 Climax 2018, Week 3: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

4. Zack Sabre Jr. Vs. Tomohiro Ishii (26 July)

Tomohrio Ishii Kota Ibushi
NJPW

Rating: ****1/4

Another stature-enhancing victory for Zack Sabre Jr aided Tomohiro Ishii's streak of f*cking incredible matches thus far, with a deadly submission war turning nasty enough for the trapped and tapped Ishii to be left ruing another B Block loss.

A quick tap in order to stop a snap, Ishii's submission was forward thinking even if his points tally thus far betrays a sound strategy. Strategy was all 'ZSJ' needed - he clung to his meticulous ground game as tightly as he did his opponent's limbs.
