4. Kazuchika Okada Vs. Lance Archer

A virtual squash until the closing moments, Lance Archer’s dominant display against Kazuchika Okada ended as every other match between them has so far after the ‘Rainmaker’ somehow survived an ungodly torrent of abuse to floor the ‘American Psycho’ with his finisher at the second breathless attempt.

A discus Rainmaker didn’t even floor Archer after a repeat performance of his jaw-dropping Kamigoye survival against Kota Ibushi earlier this week. It was again a rather unique protection of both, much like the remainder of this utterly one-sided affair. What more can be said this tournament about the Suzuki-gun member and former Killer Elite Squad alsoran?

Archer is stealing shows and hearts of discerning fans whilst still finding time to make the Young Lions sh*t themselves and young kids in the crowd p*ss tears. With this loss, it looks as though he may fall short of late-tournament contention, but he’s gained so much more this year, even in his defeats.

Who can stop the IWGP Heavyweight Champion at this point? KENTA and Archer appeared the toughest of his challengers remaining, but SANADA now awaits to try and somehow satiate his own need to defeat the Chaos leader at the umpteenth attempt. He’ll have the entire A Block on his side.
