NJPW G1 Climax 30: Every Participant's Chance Of Winning Ranked From Worst To Best

4. Kazuchika Okada

Kazuchika Okada

Okada can always win the G1. He might not have won in a few years due to his reigns with the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, but now that he's not holding a title, he's got a major chance at being triumphant. He is obviously the modern Ace of NJPW, beloved by fans and the bookers alike and giving him another accolade to add to his collection is always a possibility.

The major argument that he could win is also the biggest against his victory: the extensive history he has with Tetsuya Naito. They've wrestled at three Wrestle Kingdoms for the Heavyweight championship, including in 2020 in the current match of the year, and since the feud was recent, it might be seen as too soon to have their fourth world title match at the flagship event. But there is always the potential narrative hook of Okada trying to reclaim his beloved belt from his greatest rival.

It is inevitable that Okada and Naito will have another match and that Okada will win another G1, but it doesn't feel like he will be going back into the main event this year. Still, if it happens, it won't surprise many.
