Following the success of firstly last year's G1 Special shows in Altrincham and Milton Keynes, and this weekend's jam-packed Royal Quest event in London, New Japan Pro Wrestling are looking to build upon their recent UK expansion by potentially opening a region-specific dojo in the country.

The Japanese industry leaders have been heavily relying on graduates from their Los Angeles dojo to fill the ranks of non-domestic, nurtured talent as Young Lions in shows in the west. According to Tokyo Sports, as their globalisation continues apace, the plan is to develop the next generation of stars in Europe as well, so they can further diversify their roster going forwards.

Nothing is set in stone yet, but the idea seems to be taking considerable shape. Tokyo Sports' report further noted that the company increased the ticket allocation for Royal Quest after its initial configuration sold out in double-quick time.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
