The Best of the Super Juniors tournament wrapped up on 5 June, and while the main event saw Will Ospreay take top prize, much of the night’s attention fell on the debuting Jon Moxley. The former WWE superstar battled with the beloved Juice Robinson in a violent and brutal match which ultimately saw Moxley walk away with the win and the United States Championship.

Last Sunday's Dominion saw Moxley continue his destructive streak as one of New Japan’s Young Lions was thrown to the proverbial wolf. Shota Umino got in a few outbursts of offense early on, but the so-called "Death Rider" took control of the proceedings and made quick work of the up-and-coming competitor.

The real story, however, came after the match when Moxley announced that he "wants in the G1 Climax" to the enthusiastic Osaka crowd. While Moxley will surely be a major player in All Elite Wrestling when it debuts on national television in the fall, it seems he will occupy his summer by competing in New Japan's prestigious G1 tournament. With such impressive performances at the BOSJ final and Dominion, the rest of the G1 field should surely be on notice.
