NWO Twenty Years Later: Where Are They Now?

8. Rick Steiner

The Steiner Brothers had been an inseparable tag-team in wrestling almost since they entered the business, winning titles together around the globe. Then WCW decided it was a good idea to break up the winning tandem in order to turn Scott heel. Why? The nWo!

Almost as soon as the younger Steiner went rogue, he was begging Rick to join him. There isn't really any logic behind that, but regardless, the betrayed sibling was having none of it, and manfully resisted Scott's overtures until an injury sidelined him from the programme.

When the warring sides of the nWo were finally reconciled in 1999, Scott inducted his estranged brother into the 'Elite' group, though Rick never formally became a member of the faction.

And that was that as far as his nWo connection went. WWF declined on Rick after WCW went under, and unlike Scott, the senior Steiner began to wind down his wrestling career, making sporadic TNA appearances before new ventures in his life limited his ring action to the independent scene.

A brutish presence in the squared-circle, Rick today leads a far more sedate life, selling real estate in Cherokee, GA, where he also acts as a school board member. You can just imagine the minutes from those meetings.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
