Bron Breakker will defend his NXT Championship at next month's NXT In Your House premium live event against Joe Gacy, but the title bout will carry a critical stipulation: If Breakker gets disqualified, he will lose his championship.

The match was announced Tuesday during NXT 2.0 when Breakker stormed to the ring to call out Gacy, who abducted the champ after their title match two weeks ago at Spring Breakin', where Bron successfully defended his strap. Gacy and two goons drove Breakker out into a field and left him there, which presumably took him a fortnight to find his way back to the Performance Center.

Gacy confronted Breakker from the raised platform, doing the WWE trope of exposition as plot development, running down everything he's done to Bron and his family during the past several weeks. He then challenged Breakker to an NXT Championship rematch at In Your House, with the added DQ stipulation.

This strange feud already has sucked the wind out of Breakker's sails, as his appeal is being a different breed of superstar whose manic energy is infectious. Instead, he's now engaging in promo battles with Gacy, who has evolved from Bruce Pritchard's avatar of a woke liberal cuck into a Fiend-adjacent superstar with low-rent druids flanking him.
