WWE NXT has overtaken AEW Dynamite in the Wednesday Night Wars after a big 22% jump in viewership for this week's Raw and SmackDown invasion of Full Sail University.

The black and gold brand averaged 916,000 viewers across its two hours, which is up from the previous week's 750,000 and is the show's best number since 25 September. Dynamite, meanwhile, fell from 957,000 last week to 893,000 for their show main-evented by Jon Moxley vs. Darby Allin.

AEW maintained their advantage in the key 18-49 demographic with a 0.39 rating vs. NXT's 0.30. Interestingly, despite losing overall, Dynamite bested the WWE show in every demo barring the usual 50+, which saw a larger gap than usual as NXT posted a 0.40 vs. AEW's 0.29.

The big hope here is that the extra viewers who tuned in for this week's NXT were impressed enough by the brand's native stars to want to tune in again next week. The brand's quality certainly deserves it, so fingers crossed.

Cody tweeted the following on AEW's first defeat:-

It was always going to be tough for Dynamite going up against the likes of Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, and others this week, as these are stars above anyone on AEW's roster. It'll be interesting to see if WWE keep bringing names like this over to Full Sail going forward - the strategy clearly works.
