NXT wrestler Nikkita Lyons likely faces a lengthy period on the sidelines after revealing she has torn her anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus.

The rising WWE prospect broke the unfortunate news on Instagram, captioning a photograph with the following:-

ACL & Meniscus are torn.??This comeback is personal. Thank you to all who consistently show love & genuine support every week. You have no idea how much it means to me. ?? Those of you who don’t see the vision, thank you too. Stay ya a** right there. This is just another lesson life needed to teach. ? Love, Light, & Positivity always.

There is currently no estimate of how long Lyons will be out for, though ACL tears can necessitate a recovery period of up to a year after surgery. Typically, six-to-nine months of physical therapy are required, but it will likely depend on the severity.

Lyons, 23, last wrestled for WWE on 17 January, beating Jakara Jackson on that evening's NXT Level Up tapings. The former WOW wrestler has been a steady fixture in NXT's women's division since debuting opposite Amari Miller on 205 Live in December 2021, suffering only two singles defeats within that period - to Miller and Zoey Stark.

A taekwondo practitioner and musician, Lyons worked for WOW as Faith The Lioness prior to signing with WWE in the summer of 2021.
