WWE decided to totally repackage someone from NXT on last night's SmackDown.

NXT's Sofia Cromwell has been repackaged as the mysterious "Maxxine Dupri" on SmackDown.

WWE called Cromwell up and gave her the gig alongside Max, Mace and Mansoor as part of the new Maximum Male Models faction. Maxxine called herself the "Director Of Talent" for the group, and promised the quartet would continue "to titillate the juices of your guilty pleasures".

Reaction to the reveal on social media has been mixed, of course, but it is cool that the company decided to give someone fresh the Maxxine role. NXT regulars may recognise Cromwell from segments involving Von Wagner and Robert Stone too.

So much for those - Sofia is 100% SmackDown going forwards.

Maximum Male Models will unveil their special SummerSlam beachwear collection on next week's show. It's unclear whether or not Mace and Mansoor will be the only ones showing off swimsuits, or if Maxxine will join in on the fashion show herself.

WWE didn't give Maxxine too much time to work with here, but that's maybe not a bad thing. She cut a short backstage promo, then the broadcast moved onto a six-man tag match.
