NXT Star Reportedly Scheduled For WWE Royal Rumble 2019 Call-Up
You never know who'll show up!
WWE are going to call-up EC3 for a Royal Rumble appearance and possibly bring him onto the main roster following that, according to Joe Peisich on Barnburner's No Holds Barred podcast.
The Royal Rumble pay-per-view is synonymous with surprise appearances and it appears 2019's iteration looks set to be no different. Having featured the likes of Adam Cole and Andrade "Cien" Almas this year, WWE are allegedly eyeing up another NXT star to show up on 27th January in Phoenix, Arizona.
Joe Peisich claims that Ethan Carter III is who they are considering, stating:-
"I'm going on a line right now and saying that EC3 will be one of the NXT call-ups or appearances for the Royal Rumble."
As previously reported, the original plan for EC3 was for him to be called up to the main roster around SummerSlam time, but WWE scrapped this idea after he suffered a concussion following his match with Velveteen Dream at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV.
So it appears the reason EC3 hasn't been featuring that much on NXT recently is that the company have bigger plans for him. Although whether this Rumble appearance will lead to a transfer to the main roster, only time will tell.
