That's not to say that Kross moves on from O'Reilly.

Kyle is the next natural one-on-one challenger for the champ, and that means he needs to be protected come Sunday. Now, don't get this guy wrong. O'Reilly can still take the pinfall on the night, but the announcers must make it clear that Adam Cole was responsible for that.

In other words, they can pre-program fans into believing that Kyle would have a shot against Kross if other distractions were eliminated. Yes, long story short, this writer is proposing that WWE slowly set up a 'Fight Pit' return for the eventual O'Reilly title shot that's been on the cards for a while now.

Kross is believable enough to work inside that cage, and Kyle has the scrappy underdog quality that'd also make it bags of fun. Plus, crucially, the bout's set up would mean that Cole, Scarlett and others would have a tough time poking their nose into O'Reilly's business.

Let's do it.
