NXT UK will record new episodes next month, having been on hiatus since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country.

A promotional video aired during Saturday's NXT TakeOver XXX, confirming that the regional brand resumes operations on 17 September. The taping is scheduled to take place in BT Sport's London studios.

The entire NXT UK roster was in London over the weekend for virus testing ahead of the forthcoming recordings, according to reports from The Wrestling Movement.

Things are now looking up for a department which has undergone some serious turmoil across this year. NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin, originally scheduled for 26 April, was postponed until 25 October after coronavirus restrictions effectively made the show an impossibility. Since then, a number of NXT UK's roster have been embroiled in the #SpeakingOut movement, resulting in the dismissal of Travis Banks and Ligero, and the suspension of Joe Coffey.

NXT UK's September tapings offer the struggling brand a clean slate. WWE's promo billed it as 'the fastest-growing brand in WWE history' (along with a lot of lovely shots of horses), and though it's been the source of some strife for the company this year, they seem to be fully backing it.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
