NXT UK TakeOver Blackpool II: 5 Ups And 3 Downs

2. Ello Ello Ello. What's Going On Era, Then?

It really should be a criticism of WWE that they've so quickly returned to the nonsense booking of Survivor Series, but it's hard to complain when it works so well. The back end of 2019 was littered with random wrestlers taking long-haul flights to attack people for no apparent reason, but given that it has never failed to elicit huge, huge pops, you can hardly blame them.

As the show looked set to go off the air to the crickets (and relief) that accompanied the end of the main event, a surge of excitement spread throughout the room. Out of nowhere, Roderick Strong, Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly and Adam Cole jumped the barricade and laid out all 4 members of Imperium - the crowd, now awoken from their beer nap, lost their minds.

It's a sad indictment of NXT UK that the one thing their own show is going to be remembered for is an interference spot but, such is wrestling. Even with the resources, WWE has, and the fact they should be doing a much better job booking this brand, you've got to do what you can on the night to give fans their money's worth. An appearance from the hottest stable in the company right now send the crowd - and more importantly the show - off on a high.
