NXT Women's Title Name Changed AGAIN?
That was fun while it lasted...
After briefly being referred to as simply the 'NXT title' for a few weeks, it appears that the NXT Women's Championship's name change hasn't exactly been accepted as part of the new status quo.
In the lead up to the Worlds Collide event, Rhea Ripley was often referred to as the 'NXT Champion' instead of the 'NXT Women's Champion' and this came after WWE apparently issued an internal memo which requested that the 'Women's' section of the title be dropped when referencing the current champion.
However, despite that report it has just come to light that the name of the belt has not been officially changed on the company's website roster or on the official title belt page.
This points to the idea of WWE not fully committing to the name change and that the recent alteration may in fact just be a trial which could be set to end in the coming weeks.
WWE on FOX's Twitter account added fuel to this name changing fire by correcting a fan on the site when poked about their use of the term 'Women's Championship' with an NXT image highlighting the reverted title's name.
Do you prefer the belt being differentiated from the men's title or should both belts just be called the same thing in order to make them both feel as important?
