Fandango and Ever-Rise (Chase Parker and Matt Martel) have been released by WWE, reports Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp.

News of Ever-Rise's departure came through first, with the Fandango story following shortly afterwards. WWE has already cut 205 Live duo Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari from its talent roster today.

Fandango, who had been under WWE employ since 2006, has tweeted the following in response to his release:-

Initially coming through the WWE system via Deep South Wrestling as Johnny Curtis, Fandango broke out on the main roster in 2013, getting over huge with his ballroom dancing gimmick and catchy theme song. He famously defeated Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 29, suggesting a major push was on the horizon. This never came, however, and Fandango gradually slipped down the card.

Forming Breezango with Tyler Breeze breathed new life into Fandango's career in 2016. The duo were NXT Tag Team Champions as recently as October 2020, when they lost the belts to Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan.

Ever-Rise, meanwhile, had been with WWE since 2019 but had only started making an impact on NXT over the past few months, primarily through their bold characters and charisma. They ate a three-minute loss to Hit Row's Top Dolla and Asante 'Thee' Adonis on this week's show.
