One MIND-BLOWING Secret From Every Year Of WWE History

22. 2003 - Edge Was Buried…For Doing What Was Asked Of Him

WWE's Deepest Secrets Vince McMahon
WWE

WWE business flatlined in 2002, and it didn’t matter what they tried to do. They put Hulk Hogan Vs. Ric Flair on free TV. Didn’t draw a number. They had Hogan, as over as anybody ever at WrestleMania X-8, as champion. When that bombed, they booked Brock Lesnar to bloody Hogan and beat him clean in the middle. That didn’t bring the glory days back, either, and it was only in 2005 that WWE created two new leads capable of reversing the dismal business.

2003 was another bad post-wartime year, and in a bid to look inward and examine the problems, WWE had various talents provide feedback on the creative process. One such talent was Edge.

Edge in his weekly reports questioned, repeatedly, why very little made sense, basically asking what we were doing here.

This process existed to make things better, but this was WWE. Everything was going great!

Much like the worst X engagement farmers, per the June 16 WON, John Laurinaitis read Edge’s reports and asked him to be more positive.

“Another great week of Fed action, no notes!”

After a while, the charade was put to an end.
