While Randy Orton and 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt aren't scheduled to wrestle each other at Royal Rumble 2021 this weekend, there's a chance the match may have been postponed rather than cancelled outright.

This is according to a report from the Wrestling Observer stating that WWE had originally planned on having the duo's latest match on the signature January pay-per-view. Putting 'The Viper' into the men's Royal Rumble was supposed to be a red herring, though the lack of 'Fiend' match announcement makes it clear that the promotion has switched gears.

Eliminator Chamber 2021 (21 February) could now be used as the blow-off point for their feud.

Wyatt hasn't been seen on WWE television since Orton burned him to a crisp at TLC 2020, setting 'The Fiend' ablaze to win their Firefly Inferno match. There's currently no word on when, exactly, he'll be back.

Orton, meanwhile, has kept the beef going through his confrontations with Alexa Bliss, whom he RKO'd at the end of this week's episode of Raw. Alexa had launched a fireball into Orton's face two weeks prior, forcing him to don a Destroyer-esque mask to cover his burned skin.
