Outlandish Theory: 5 Signs WWE Are Hatching A Bullet Club Takeover
2. Chris Jericho's Wrestle Kingdom Surprise
Chris Jericho has repeatedly stated in numerous interviews that he's disinterested in wrestling outside the familiar walls of WWE. Y2J has been with the promotion since jumping over from WCW in 1999, and hasn't yet worked one match away from the company he's called home for close to 20 years. That changes in January.
All of a sudden, Jericho has changed his mind and will wrestle Kenny Omega on NJPW's annual Wrestle Kingdom show at the Tokyo Dome. Why is that? Why has such a loyal WWE figure who just this month remarked how great a relationship he has with Vince McMahon suddenly turn his back on his friend for a quick payday? Maybe because he hasn't.
Look at Jericho's opponent. Omega is the head of The Bullet Club, a group WWE have legal beef with. It's outlandish to even suggest, but is this McMahon's way of sounding out a New Japan regular? Sending over one of his most loyal lieutenants to report back on Omega with a view to bringing him in could be sound strategy.
