With his contract due to expire next year, certain figures with WWE are keen to tie Dragon Lee down to a new deal.

Per PWInsider Elite, Lee has received rave reviews for his AAA Mega Championship match against Dominik Mysterio last weekend at Heroes Immortales. As a result, several people in WWE management have made it clear that they want to get Dragon locked into a new contract well before his existing one is up.

In terms of that existing deal, Dragon Lee signed a three-year deal with WWE back in December 2022. That would've seen him be out of contract this coming December, though the belief is that time has been added on due to injury, which is why the deal now runs through until 2026.

Of course, Lee is currently one-half of the WWE World Tag Team Champions, with him and AJ Styles defeating the Judgment Day's Finn Balor and JD McDonagh for those titles on last week's Raw. Dragon has also won the NXT North American Championship and the WWE Speed Championship during his time with the market leader.

Prior to joining WWE, Dragon Lee had notable success in CMLL, AAA, NJPW, the prior incarnation of Ring of Honor, and had an extremely brief cup of coffee in AEW, wrestling one match for Tony Khan's promotion in 2022, where he teamed with his brother Rush and Andrade El Idolo in a losing effort against Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks in the tournament to crown the inaugural AEW Trios Champions.
