Injured WWE star Piper Niven hasn't worked a match since beating Charlotte Flair on the 22 August 2025 episode of SmackDown. Reports on Piper's condition last September didn't seem promising - there has been speculation that the Scot's neck issues could be career threatening.

Thankfully, Niven herself remains in fairly good spirits and has updated fans on her plight via social media. Replying to a fan question on X, Piper posted a lengthy statement that revealed the true torture of her injury layoff. She did say, however, that's she's "in a good spot right now".

Later, Niven added: "The truth is I’ve been so quiet as I know you have questions, but the fact of the matter is...I don’t know yet. It’s 5 months on, and some days when it’s bad I can’t stand up for more than a few minutes if even a minute".

Clearly, that isn't good news, but Piper remains hopeful that she'll be able to launch a full in-ring return at some point in the future. She's asking for fans to "keep your fingers crossed for me", and feels she was "just starting to get confident again and open up and hit [her] groove" before suffering such a major setback.

Niven had been aligned with both Chelsea Green and fellow Scot Alba Fyre on SmackDown until last summer. That 'Secret Hervice' act has continued in her absence, but WWE's creative team hasn't moved to replace Piper with a new tag partner for Fyre since news spread of her injury.

All the best to Niven as she continues her rehab.
