Following on from reports earlier this week, it appears that Piper Niven’s new ring name is indeed to be Doudrop.

Niven made her main roster debut this past Monday, aligning herself with Eva Marie and wrestling Naomi on behalf of All Red Everything.

While the Scot picked up the dominant victory here, the Raw announce team acted dumb and pretended to have zero idea who Piper Niven was – that coming off the back of Piper having competed in the Mae Young Classic and then spent the past two years appearing weekly for NXT UK.

In the fallout from that Raw debut, it was rumoured that WWE was planning to rename the former Viper as either Dewdrop or Doudrop.

Adding further credence to the powerhouse being given the Doudrop moniker, WWE filed to trademark that name with the United States Patent & Trademark Office on Wednesday 16 June for, amongst other things, “entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer”.

There's no getting around the fact that Doudrop is a pretty horrendous name for a talent, but Piper Niven is an incredibly talented performer who can hopefully make the most of this main roster opportunity.
